Mark MacDonald is Church Branding Strategist for Be Known For Something, a national church communication and branding agency, coaching pastors and churches to become relevant in their community. He’s the bestselling author of “Be Known For Something” (beknownbook.com), has written 800+ magazine articles, and is the Exec Director of Center for Church Communication (Church Marketing Sucks, Creative Missions, etc). Over 30+ years, Mark has served as Pastor, Marketing VP, Creative Director, and Strategist; in one of Eastern Canada’s largest agencies, his own agency, for the 3000+ Florida Baptist churches, and most recently at one of the largest church consulting groups. He and Tammy, his wife of 30 years, have 2 grown sons in Calgary and Nashville. Follow him: @markmac1023
When Ishmael was a child, he was fascinated with television productions. He often critiqued movies, commercials, and the news to determine how these were created. That passion led him to receive a broadcast journalism degree at Liberty University. That investment provided a five-year experience as a news reporter for WSET ABC 13 News in Lynchburg that crafted his writing and video skills. God called him out of the news to ministry. He started working on the media team for the SBC of Virginia in 2011. Ishmael absolutely loves serving SBCV churches and sharing how God is at work across the convention.
Ever since he was young, Bobby loved to have a pencil and piece of paper in his hand to sketch anything from buildings to animals. This passion led him to pursue a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. While there, the Lord instilled a desire for him to use graphic design in some sort of missions work. After an internship with the SBCV’s media team in 2009, God opened the door for Bobby to work with them. As creative director, he oversees the creation of all print and web resources to help the look of the SBC of Virginia remain consistent. Bobby loves serving the convention and helping churches reach for excellence in all they do.
Brandon is a story-teller at heart with a passion for missions. Since graduating from Liberty University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, he has been anchoring and reporting for television networks, network affiliates and ministries. Along with his responsibility as Chief Marketing Officer for the SBC of Virginia, he is also the vice president of Innovative Faith Resources (a ministry focused media marketing company) and an adjunct professor of digital media at Liberty University. Before that, he was the communications director of the North American Mission Board. While at NAMB, he and his team won 2 Emmy Awards for the 30-minute weekly missions TV program, “On Mission Xtra”.
